This
overhead view of Wayne was made in 1898 by O.H. Baily & Co., lithographers
and publishers from Boston. It is an extremely detailed depiction of Wayne
and St. Davids, showing almost every building for about a square mile. It
is unknown exactly how this lithograph was made, although it has been speculated
that it was drawn from a balloon. At the bottom of the map is a list of
notable landmarks, which correspond via a letter with the location on the
map.
There are two versions of the drawing here. The first is the complete unabridged
map, and the second is a slightly smaller version, labeled according to
the list on the bottom of the map.
PLEASE NOTE that these files are quite large and slower connections will
take a long time.
