Bolingbroke

Radnor, King of Prussia Rd.
1901
Currently St. Martin's Church parish house

Bolingbroke began as an 18th-century farmhouse and was converted by owner Ledyard Hecksher in 1901. Prior to this acquisition, the house had been altered very little. Hecksher, an Alan Wood Steel executive, hired R. Brognard Okie to alter and expand the house. New windows, doorways and a new roof was added, and the size of the house was doubled, although the Colonial style was kept. Okie returned in 1907 to double the size of the house once again. In 1959 the estate became the parish house of St. Martin’s Church.

1907: Second addition and alterations
1959: Becomes St. Martin’s Church parish house.
