Car-Alan

Wayne, Conestoga Rd. and South Wayne Ave.
1898
Currently private residence

Car-Alan was designed by William L. Price. This is one of his few unique houses in Wayne; he designed most of the Wendell & Smith houses in North and South Wayne. Car-Alan was made for Alan H. Reed, a men’s clothing retailer. The property originally was surrounded by four streets. The estate’s name was a combination of the Reeds’ first names.

In the early 2000's, the carriage house of Car-Alan, now its own property, began to be converted into a family's home.
