New Minella's Opens

October 9 2003

Still without its requested liquor license, Minella's Diner has reopened with a new look. The controversial new look dramatically alters the ambiance of the Diner, whose original building was relocated to Florida earlier this year.

Many people come across this site by searching on the internet for "Minella's." Therefore, work has begun on an upcoming "Diners" section, which will include histories of Minella's as well as all incarnations of the China Buddha diner. If you have any information or photographs of any Wayne diners including Minella's, please email me.

The pictures below are from the September 25th issue of the Suburban and Wayne Times. On the left, a large, old tree toppled onto a Bronco on historic Bloomingdale avenue during the storm resulting from Hurricane Isabel. On the right, the almost completed new Minella's.

Again, you can view a great video of the moving of Minella's Diner here.
