Political Season Heats Up in Wayne

This year's presidential race is one of the most competitive in years, subjecting local places to partisan politics. The most visible display in recent days has been the placement around Wayne's center of a group of posters which originated in Western Pennsylvania. The "Partisan Project," as it is called, distributes packets of anti-Bush posters throughout the Pittsburgh area and has been imported to other towns, now including Wayne.

A group of George W. Bush supporters has been promoting their candidate at the Northwest corner of Lancaster & Wayne ave., with enormous signs. Likewise, on the Southeast corner, John Kerry supporters stood with "Moms for Kerry" signs.

In the traditionally conservative Main Line, people are becoming increasingly divided. Hopefully in less than a week, partisan lines will fade and things will be back to normal.

P&W TRAIL NEARLY COMPLETE

The long delayed P&W Hike-Bike Trail, which finally began construction this summer, is nearly complete. Gravel has been laid down, concrete has been applied to make bridges less dangerous, and blacktop has been laid down to about half of the trail. For details see photos on the left.
