Middle School Activity Center Demolished

February 24 2006

Radnor Middle School's Activity Center was demolished this month as an early phase of the new Middle School construction project. The brick building was built around 1910 as the High School's first free-standing gymnasium. It originally adjoined the Windermere Avenue High School, which was demolished in the 1980s, and stood behind the School District's Administration Building.

The building had been used in recent years as a gathering place for Middle School activities, as well as a venue for School Board meetings.

The new Radnor Middle School is expected to open in September, 2007.
