Not in Wayne? |
This page features houses identical in appearance to those located
in
Wayne, but they are not. Surprisingly, houses in North and South Wayne
have
sisters in other parts of the Main Line, and as far away as Wisconsin.
The
Pinehurst Inn
The design of this Pikes Creek,
Wisconsin bed and breakfast is a
modification of the popular William Price designed "Pillar House," a
common design in North
and South Wayne. It began as the house of R.D. Pike, a local quarry
owner.
It was built in 1885, the same year construction began on Price's
houses
in North Wayne. The design is very similar to the Wayne Pillar House,
with
one window on the front gable instead of two, and an expanded rear end.
