Most of the postcards on this page were published in the early 20th century. Most of these were published and sold by C.W. Bensinger, a stationary store owner in the Lancaster Avenue business block of Wayne. The cards on this page highlight the churches of Wayne's past

The Wayne Presbyterian Church, as taken from the business block across Lancaster Ave.
Although today there is no ivy growing up its front, the Presbyterian Church and Chapel still stand.

Another view of the Presbyterian Church. Notice how in both views there was a significant amount of ivy growing on the church's facade.
Lancaster Ave. may be a little less tree-lined, but it looks much the same as it did when the postcard was published.

Radnor Presbyterian Church, which was built on Windemere Ave. next to the High School.
Today the site of the Church is part of the Radnor Middle School grounds.

Several different views of the Old St. David's Church, built in 1714 (sometimes said to have been built in 1715). The church is probably one of the most photographed buildings in Radnor, and it seems there are more postcards of the church than of any other subject.

Aberdeen Ave., showing the front of St. Katherine of Siena Church.
The original St. Katherine's Church no longer stands, yet the newer church is on the same site.

Several different views of the Central Baptist Church, Lancaster Ave. The church has seen a few alterations, with the addition on the left and the removal of the "cone" off the tower.

St. Martin's Church in Radnor.

St. Mary's P.E. Church, Lancaster and Louella Ave.
You would hardly know by looking at then-and-now pictures, but much of St. Mary's was destroyed by fire in 1969. It was rebuilt to the exact original appearance

Present-Day Picture Coming Soon!
A postcard from the 1940's showing the side of St. Mary's. This card is unusual because it ignores the church's most prominent feature, its tower.

First Baptist Church on West Wayne Ave. and Conestoga Rd. It was also called Radnor Baptist Church and Wayne Baptist Church.
The site of the church is today occupied by businesses, although the original schoolhouse and cemetery still remain.
