1. 1911 Wayne


There is nothing known about the 1911 Wayne Train wreck except for the pictures seen below. When the Pennsylvania Railroad ran frieght traffic on the main line, wrecks were fairly common. The destruction of this wreck in Wayne appears devastating, but at the time it was probably just another day working on the railroad.

The wreck sent several cars careening off the tracks.

 

Spectators came to see the wreck.

 

Safety regulations regarding outsdiers seemed to be lax.

The engine hung uneasily atop a hill.

Boxcars were shattered in the wreck.


2. 1920 Radnor


There is nothing known about the 1911 Wayne Train wreck except for the pictures seen below. When the Pennsylvania Railroad ran frieght traffic

These freight cars falling over the bridge blocked traffic on King of Prussia Road.

 

Pennsylvania Railroad service was disrupted for some time while wrecked cars blocked the tracks.
